Our website sometimes uses so-called cookies. Cookies do not adversely affect your computer nor do they contain viruses. Cookies are used to make our website more user-friendly, effective and secure. Cookies are small text files that are stored in your computer by your browser.
The majority of cookies used by us are so-called "session" cookies. They are deleted automatically at the end of your visit to our site. Other cookies remain stored in your device until you delete them. These cookies enable us to recognize your browser the next time you visit our site.
We need cookies for the following:
- Identification of user session in server memory
- Prevention and defense against attacks
- Saving information that the user has sent a form
You can set up your browser so that you are informed about the cookie settings and so that it will only allow the acceptance of cookies in specific cases or generally exclude them as well as activating the automatic cookie deletion process when closing the browser. Disabling cookies might well restrict this website's functionality.
Cookies that are needed to implement the electronic communications process are stored on the basis of Art. 6 Para. 1 (f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the storing of cookies in order to ensure technically error-free and optimized provision of its services. Insofar as other cookies (such as cookies for analyzing your surfing behavior) are stored, they will be treated separately in this data protection declaration (see PLUGINS & TOOLS section).
If you send us inquiries via the contact form, then your details entered in the inquiry form, including the contact details that you entered, will be stored in order to process your inquiry and in case of follow-up questions. This data will always remain within the Berliner Glas Group and we will never share it without your consent.
The processing of the data entered into the contact form is based exclusively on your consent (General Data Protection Act, Art. 6 Para. 1, etc.). You can revoke this consent at any time. Just send us an informal email message and this will be sufficient. The legality of the data processing procedure carried out up to the revocation remains unaffected by the withdrawal of consent.
The data that you entered in the contact form will remain with us until you ask us to delete it, revoke your consent to its storage or if the reason for the data storage lapses (e.g. after completing the processing of your inquiry). Mandatory statutory provisions - especially retention periods - remain unaffected.
Passing data on
The personal information provided to us will only be passed on to other locations within the Berliner Glas Group of companies, provided that this is necessary with regard to internal cooperation or for the processing of your inquiries.
You can revoke your existing data processing consent at any time. Just send us an informal email message and this will be sufficient. The legality of the data processing carried out up to the revocation remains unaffected by the withdrawal of consent.
We collect and process the personal data of applicants so that we can process their applications. This processing can also be realized electronically.
This is particularly the case if an applicant submits the relevant application documents to us electronically, i.e. via email or via a web form from our website.
If a contract of employment results from the application, then the transmitted data will be stored for the purpose of implementing the employment relationship in compliance with the statutory provisions.
If the application does not result in a contract of employment, then the application documents will be deleted six months after the job placement has been finalized, provided that deletion does not prejudice any other legitimate interests of the processing entity. Another legitimate interest in this sense could be the burden of proof in a procedure under the General Equal Treatment Act (Allgemeinen Gleichbehandlungsgesetz). The data can also be stored longer with the approval of the applicant.
5. Newsletter / Info-Service
Newsletter data / Info-Service data
Users are given the opportunity to subscribe to our company's Info-Service/newsletter on our website. The personal data that will be transferred to the processing entity when the newsletter is ordered will be taken from the input screen used for this purpose.
The Berliner Glas Group will inform its customers and business partners about company news at irregular intervals through their Info-Service/newsletter. Our company's Info-Service/newsletter can only be received by the relevant person if (1) the relevant person provides a valid email address and (2) if the relevant person has registered to receive the Info-Service/newsletter. For legal reasons, an initial confirmation email using the double-opt-in procedure will be sent to the email address registered by the relevant person for receiving the Info-Service/newsletter. This confirmation email is used to check whether the owner of the email address is the same relevant person who authorized receipt of the Info-Service/newsletter.
When registering for the Info-Service/newsletter, we also save the date and time of registration. Collecting this data is necessary in order to retrace any (possible) misuse of the relevant person's email address at a later date and it also serves as a legal safeguard for the processing entity.
The personal data collected as part of the registration process for the Info-Service/newsletter will be used solely for sending out our Info-Service/newsletter. Furthermore, subscribers to the Info-Service/newsletter may be informed by email, as far as this is necessary for the operation of the Info-Service/newsletter service or a related registration, in the event that changes will be made with regard to the provision of the Info-Service/newsletter service or if changes will be made to the technical conditions. No personal data collected as part of the Info-Service/newsletter service will be passed on to third parties. The relevant person may terminated their subscription to our Info-Service/newsletter at any time. Consent to the storage of personal data that the relevant person has given us for sending out the Info-Service/newsletter can be revoked at any time. The appropriate link to be used for the purpose of revoking the consent can be found in every Info-Service/newsletter. Furthermore, it is also possible to deregister from being sent the Info-Service/newsletter any time directly from the responsible entity's website or else you can inform the responsible entity in a different way.
Info-Service / newsletter tracking, use of Mailchimp
The Info-Service emails/newsletters are sent out using MailChimp, a newsletter distribution platform from the US provider Rocket Science Group, LLC, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE #5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA.
The email addresses of our newsletter/Info-Service recipients, as well as their other data described herein, are stored on the servers of MailChimp in the USA. MailChimp uses this information to distribute and to evaluate our newsletter on our behalf. Furthermore, MailChimp, according to its own information, can use this data to optimize or improve its own services, e.g. for the technical optimization of its distribution and presentation of the newsletter or for economic purposes in order to determine the countries of origin of the recipients. However, MailChimp does not use our newsletter recipient data to address them itself or give this data to third parties.
Statistical collection and analysis
The newsletters contain a so-called web beacon, i.e. a file the size of a pixel that is requested by the MailChimp server when the newsletter is opened. This enables the server to collect technical information like browser and system information as well as your IP address and time of access. This information is used for the technical improvement of services using technical data or target groups and their reading behavior using their locations of access (which are determined with the help of their IP address) or access times.
This collection of statistics also includes determining whether the newsletter is opened, when it is opened, and which links are clicked. This information can be assigned, due to technical reasons, to individual newsletter/Info-Service recipients. However, it is neither our intent, nor is it that of MailChimp, to monitor individual users. On the contrary, these evaluations enable us to determine the reading habits of our users and to adapt our content to them or to send our users different content based on their interests.
This personal data will never be passed on to a third party. The relevant persons are entitled to revoke the declaration of consent made via the double-opt-in procedure at any time. Their personal data will be deleted by the responsible entity after revocation. The Berliner Glas Group will also view a revocation as automatic deregistration from receiving the Info-Service/newsletter.
